Research & Development

We have established a research base within our Kyoto Plant to pursue development activities directly linked to the manufacturing process.

We continuously take on new challenges aimed at improving quality, developing new products, and innovating manufacturing technologies.
We also listen carefully to feedback from customers in Japan and abroad, and proactively collaborate with industry and academia to generate new value through the development of next-generation materials and technologies. Going forward, we will continue to explore the boundless possibilities of carbon and strive to deliver technologies and products that contribute to a better future.

Research to Convert CO₂ into Carbon

By combining the molten salt electrolysis technology developed by I’MSEP, a startup from Doshisha University, with the heat treatment technology of SEC CARBON, we have successfully converted carbon dioxide (CO₂) into carbon particles.
The resource utilization of carbon dioxide is expected to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality.

Selected Projects

FY2022–FY2024
  • Go-Tech Project: Research and Development Support Program for Growing SMEs
R&D on Carbon Nanoparticles Using Molten Salt Electrolysis Technology to Enhance the Performance of Non-Aqueous Secondary Batteries
FY2024–FY2025
  • NEDO Leading R&D Program
